I've been a member of the American Institute of Flora Design (AIFD) since 1969. It's the part of our floral industry that excels at the art of floral design, promoting this with a yearly Symposium at different locations across the United States. There are different region members, and mine is the Southwest Region of AIFD. Each region puts on their own yearly mini Symposium, which I choose to title "AIFD Reaching Out" events. On March 1, 2015, our region hosted the "Ultimate Wedding Challenge" held in San Bernardino at the Orange Event Center. I was on hand to help Beth O'Reilly AIFD with her program, along with 2 other fabulous designers Samuel Van Wert AIFD and Susan Standerfer AIFD. The show was incredible and the house was packed with designers and event planners. This is the part of the industry that keeps me motivated as well as my wonderful client base. It allows me to be in contact with designers across the globe, offering more creative designs locally. Here some incredible images of the event:
